Moscow

Greetings from Moscow! On Friday I had my last day at my summer job and today I arrived here in Moscow. I have never been here before and I'm super excited to see what this city is all about! Here are some pictures from our pretty hotel room and the roof top bar upstairs. This upcoming month I will visit many new destinations so stay tuned! ;)

Terveisiä Moskovasta! Perjantaina mulla olikin viiminen päivä kesätöissä ja tänään sitten saavuin tänne Moskovaan. Kaupunki on mulle kokonaan uusi tuttavuus, joten olen tietenkin sanoinkuvaamattoman innoissani siitä, että pääsen tutustumaan Moskovaan kameran kera. Tässä kuvia hotellihuoneesta ja yläkerran roof top baarista. Nyt heinäkuussa mulla on monta matkakohdetta edessä joten pysykäähän kuulolla! ;)

Graduation pt. 1

 

 

EN: Wohoo, high school is officially over! The graduation day was pretty awesome. First, we had the graduation ceremony at the school, after which we came home and had a party for relatives and friends. After that we switched in to night gear (a bit sexier attire, if you feel me...) and headed out. I had so much fun and I feel as though I ate a mountain of cake... The club we went to for the after party turned out to be suckier than we thought because they played shitty music but overall I had a great time, thanks to the awesome company I was in. I think the best part of this all was to wake up to all the pretty roses on the next day.

My day dress was bought from Zazabella and the necklace I got from Glitter. The nude pumps were bought from Mango and cost only 50 e!! The night dress I got from Bershka on my trip to Holland. I decided to keep it simple accessory wise and added only a pair of crystal earrings.

 FIN: Juhuu, lukio on vihdoin suoritettu ja ylioppilaan lakki painettu päähän! Oli kyllä aivan ihana päivä. Ensin oltiin koulun valmistujais-seremoniassa jonka jälkeen kotona pidettiin juhlat. Voi sitä kakun määrää mikä tuli syötyä! Mutta ei kaduta yhtään!  Illalla sitten suuntasimmekin ekana Rutto puistoon aloittelemaan ja sieltä wanhalle jatkoille. Vaatteet tietysti vaihtui halvempaan (ja ehkä hieman paljastavampaan, kjehheh...) mekkoon. Itse klubi oli hieman pettymys (esim. DJ oli huono), mutta hauskaa oli silti. Kiitos siitä kuuluu ehdottomasti parhaalle seuralle. Kaikista parhainta oli kuitenkin herätä seuraavana aamuna isoon kasaan ruusuja.

Päivän mekon ostin Zazabellasta ja sen kanssa parittamani korun ostin Glitteristä. Kengät ostin Mangosta. Voitteko kuvitella, että ne olivat pelkästään 50 e?! Illan mekon ostin Maastrichtin matkalta Bershkasta. Päätin pitää kokonaiskuvan suht simppelinä ja jätin kaulakorun kokonaan pois ja vaihdoin korvikset hieman näyttävämpiin/juhlavampiin.

P.s. I named this part 1 because the pictures taken by the professional photographer will arrive next week. I saw a preview of them and I have to admit I'm pretty excited about them! Can't wait to show them to you guys in part 2. 

 Laitoin otsikkoon "part 1" koska ammattilaiskuvaajan kuvat eivät ole vielä saapuneet (saan ne luultavasti seuraavalla viikolla). Pääsin jo vilkaisemaan yhtä kuvista ja täytyy sanoa, että sen kuvan perusteella odotan innolla loppujakin kuvista. Näette ne sitten mun kakkososassa. ;-)

Welcome to Maastricht

EN: To go or not to go is the main question on my mind. The city and its people were truly wonderful. The city was small with old buildings and winding muggle stone alleys. There were shops and restaurants and cafes with beer gardens everywhere. The people were ridiculously kind and helpful so it was easy to ask for directions when I got lost, (which was surprisingly often…) or when I asked the current Maastricht uni students about the school and life in there in general. One thing that struck to my eye immediately was that everybody dressed well. Also, if you're interested in seeing good looking guys then you might as well visit Holland.
Some negatives about the place, which still have me wondering about whether or not I should go are the fact that it is pretty small and the closest airport is about three hours away, and the law program I got accepted to is hard and a lot of people get dropped out during the first year. Also, there will be a some sort of language barrier with the dutch locals even though the city is quite international. Thank goodness, I still have until august to decide what I'm going to do.

FIN: Kysymys kuuluu, että mennäkkö vai ollakko menemättä. Päätös tulee kyllä olemaan vaikea. Maastrichtin kaupunki ja sen ihmiset olivat aivan ihania. Kaupunki itsessään oli suhteellisen pieni ja kaupungin keskusta oli täynnä vanhoja eurooppalaistyylisiä rakennuksia ja mutkittelevia mukulakivi katuja. Kauppoja ja ravintoloita niiden tuhansine terasseineen myös pilkisti joka kulmalta. Maastrichtin asukkaat ja hollantilaiset yleensäkkin olivat ihan naurettavan mukavia ja avuliaita. Ihmisille oli tosi helppo puhua ja kyselinkin paljon paikallisilta oppilailta koulusta ja sain apua monelta kun eksyin (yllättävän monta kertaa, heh…). Hyvännäköisiä kundeja myös tuntui olevan kaikkialla. Laskisin tuon ehdottomaksi lisä bonukseksi.
Kuulin myös negatiivista palautetta paikasta, kuten esim. että paikka on pieni ja se saattaa ahdistaa sen parin kolmen vuoden jälkeen, ja koulunkäynti on kuulemma n. kolme kertaa rankempaa kuin suomalaisissa yliopistoissa ja oheis työn hankkimisen joutuu uhraamaan läksyille. Päätös tulee kyllä olemaan vaikea koska tossa paikassa on niin paljon hyvää sekä huonoa. Luojan kiitos päätös täytyy tehdä vasta elokuuhun mennessä!

EN: I am officially free! Today was the last matriculation exam, which means that I'm finally done with IB. It feels so absurd... But most importantly this means that I'm back in blogging business and more involved than ever. Today was simply magical. We sat in the sun, ate ice cream, lounged at a cafe for hours, then went window shopping... Time just seemed to extend to infinity when there was nothing to stress about. Later, Elna and I met up with dad and got our graduation hats fitted and had dinner out. Tomorrow, I have a hair appointment and on Thursday I leave to Maastricht. I'm a tad bit nervous but super excited! Also, I still need to find shoes for the graduation which is coming up fast. 

FI: Jee, vihdoin vapaa! Nyt on sitten se IB kemiakin kirjotettu. Jotenkin vaikea sisäistää, että  koulu on ohi. Tämä tarkoittaa tietysti sitä, että oon taas takaisin täällä blogin parissa ja aktiivisempi kuin koskaan! Heh, kuulen teidän innostuksen huudot ihan tänne saakka. Täytyy sanoa, että tää päivä oli kyllä täydellinen. Istuttiin espalla auringossa jätskien kanssa, oleskeltiin tunteja kahvilassa, ja käytiin ikkunashoppailemassa. Sen jälkeen treffattiinkin isän kanssa ja mentiin perheen tradition mukaisesti Wahlmaniin sovittelemaan ylppärilakkeja. Käytiin myös ulkona Kämp:issä syömässä vikan kokeen kunniaksi. Huomenna onkin sitten kampaaja, ja jo torstaina lennän Maastrichtiin. Jännittää vähän, että miten kaikki sujuu, mutta oon kuitenkin super innoissani! Vielä pitäisi myös päättäri kengät löytää.

 It feels like summer is just around the corner! Today I've been kicking around in other people's clothes. I mean that's what friends are for, right?? I'm legitimately in love with the top I stole, ahem, borrowed from a friend and my sister's cropped denim jacket.
I was so upset today when I found out that my perfect crunchy heel ankle boots, which I bought from River Island had been sent back to the store by the postal service. Apparently they had sent me one slip telling me about the arrival of the parcel but I never got it so they sent the parcel back. I'm just so annoyed that they wouldn't call me or email me before sending it back even though I had all my contact information on it. I had even added a message saying "If not home leave in the front". Even if this wasn't enough, I had sent so many emails not only to my local post service but also the DPD and the store asking about the whereabouts of the parcel but no one had been able to locate the parcel and tell me that it was at the post office. I'm still so freaking frustrated! All this time the shoes had been right there and I had no idea. Seriously, I wanted to scream when I heard.
 

Hopefully you guys had a bit luckier week than I did! And for those lucky ducks who got to go to Coachella, welcome back!

Rain on

It's raining but there's surprisingly a smell of spring or a cold rainy summer day in the air. I've been sitting in a library and a cafe the whole day. Luxury is when you can have a cup of both coffee and tea and won't have to choose.
