"What fresh hell is this" - Chanel Oberlin

Wearing:
Shoes and dress - Zara
Sweater - H&M

Greetings from exam hell! I was scrolling through my instagram account and noticed that I had not uploaded this look on my blog. It is one of my favorite looks for a day in the library or a cafĂ© because it is easy to throw together and its warm and airy at the same time. Skinny jeans can be so uncomfortable and restricting, am I right ladies?  I love how the dress (also worn here) gets a completely new look when you throw a sweater on top. I almost love it even more as a skirt substitute.  Brilliant, eh?

I've been spending so much time in the library as we have exams coming up next week. I'm going to be so happy when all exams are done. Now I have to get back studying and literally punch through the 'procrastination haze' back in to the study flow. Wish me luck!
I will post more soon hopefully as I will be traveling to Cardiff for a long weekend.

Adieu & kisses,
J

Days are rolling by, parties come and parties go. I spend most of my time in the library studying. There are 3 or so days left, if you still count today, for my birthday. I still haven't figured out what I want to do for my birthday. Turning twenty gives me slight anxiety. On one hand, twenty is starting to feel like the so-long desired adulthood. On another hand, I don't think a number will magically turn me into an adult. With this rate I'll have to wait until sixty. Malala Yousafzai built a freaking school for Syrian refugees for her 18th birthday. What have I achieved so far? When you are a teenager, life sort of feels like a test run. You test out things and you act like an adult, but yet you don't have to do the paper work or pay taxes, or if you fuck up you are forgiven because you are 'just a kid'. The fact is my friends, that I don't think 'just a kid' extends to twenty-year-olds. Thus, entering into my twenties feels like entering into that real run of your one single life. Things suddenly count towards how my life will turn out. And I don't think my evil alter-ego, the Netflix-self, really likes that idea.

On a lighter note though, do you know what week it is, bitches? New York Fashion week!!! (Cue in trumpets) I'd sell my arm to be in New York right now. I found a website here, where you can watch the fashion shows and stream live. I've been obsessed with this sheer, and light material (as the striped zara jacket suggests) and lace lately. Needless to say I was obsessed with Tadashi Shoji's dress collection where she combined both sheer and lace. Got me wondering if it would be too late to win the lottery, and switch my law ball dress into one of his. Or maybe if I buried him in emails and bombed him in social media, he'd cave in and send me one as a charity case. Hmm...
In my today's look, I combined a long top with cropped ankles. To prevent that supper short, pudgy effect, as I am not indeed a 180 cm tall model ( I know, I know I also get shocked every time I remember), the pants had a higher waist which added length to the bottom, despite the cropped pant. God bless high waisted bottoms, which create the illusion of longer legs. Seriously.
God. Bless.

If I have time, I will make a more detailed post only about New York Fashion Week later. Until then, my Fashion Fellas (nerdy laughter sounding in the distance).

I took a screen shot of The Dress....

Kisses, kisses, kisses,

Hola amigos! (I just got myself a Spanish tutor and I'm so excited, please bare with me...)
It's raining here in Maastricht, which is actually a relief after 30 degrees and no air conditioning. I'm excited to be back and there are many exciting events to look forward to.

Yesterday, I ended up in Zara by accident (I blame my shopaholic friends) and ended up taking home a white long vest, this cool sheer shirt vest thing, shoes, and most importantly a black suede dress with studs, which I LOVE and wore today. Paired up with the fur, and a pointy toe, I had the perfect combating-the-cold-but-still-not-ready-to-let-go-of-summer outfit. Now I'm off to figure out what to wear tonight, as I'm going to an open air festival.

XO,
J

OOTD: New hair & dress!

Dress - Zara
Shoes - Selected
Rings (Sterling silver) - Glitter

As you see, I have updated my hair again to the fall hues now that uni has started. I have a sort of balayage with an ashy hue. I really hope the hue stays and doesn't get washed out! I also bought a new dress from Zara. It reminds me of the 60's! I'm obsessed with it and have already worn it a crazy amount of times.

J

Hello lovelies! I actually shot this look a few weeks ago but I've been a bit lazy with uploading, as you might have noticed. I have another outfit of the day coming up as well and I have a feeling that you're going to love it!
I'm a bit stressed out at the moment because my flight back to Maastricht leaves tomorrow morning at freaking 8 am, and there's still a crazy amount of errands I need to take care of. It's typical me to leave things for the last minute. Even though, technically I haven't since there's still time (my bad math head ruins this joke, but like HOURS) until its 7:59 am. So technically I haven't left everything for the last minute, because I'm responsible like that... Ahem.
(I'm pretty sure I stole that joke from a meme. Chill out copyright lawyers.)
Anyways, back to things that matter, par consĂ©quent, my outfit. (Hair flip.) If you read my blog you might notice that I wore the same dress as a casual beach throw-on in spain. I was suprised to see how well the dress works both in an extremely casual setting (such as a beach) and a more smart casual/fancy setting as well.  All in all, very convenient and wearable.  It all boils down to stripes, which are widely popular at the moment. (Take Zara, for example. Stripes everywhere.) Vertical stripes are almost always (like, with 1% statistical margin, which basically doesn't exist, excluding bad luck) smart casual. When you find a comfortable garment and add stripes to it- BAM- you get immediate transformability. If I was good at math I'd write you a formula.
Anyways, now I'm off to all the tasks that are not being taken care of at the last minute. (I'm actually walking in the city and typing at the same time, no lie...)
Until next post!
Xo,
J

See I didn't lie. I'm a mess
